Modern Rustic Dining

Cottage

Dubai, UAE · 2024

Cottage was designed as a refined neighbourhood restaurant that combines warmth, texture, and contemporary detailing. Sage-green statement counters, exposed timber beams, curated artwork, and soft brass lighting create a dining experience that feels inviting, layered, and modern.

The challenge

Deliver a strong brand read from the street while keeping the interior calm enough for long dwell times — and coordinate F&B equipment, MEP, and joinery in a tight envelope.

Our approach

We led with material hierarchy: one hero counter colour, repeated wood grain direction, and lighting layers that separate service drama from dining comfort.

Modern rustic dining

Cottage reads as a refined neighbourhood restaurant: sage-green monolithic counters, heavy timber ceiling beams, and a gallery wall of curated art — balanced with patterned banquettes, tiled inlays, and warm brass lighting.

Experience

  • Front-of-house journey from backlit street signage through to intimate banquette seating
  • Zoned flooring and inlays to anchor counter, circulation, and dining pockets
  • Retail moment for coffee and pastry with integrated display refrigeration
Warmth and craft without nostalgia — a contemporary bistro with texture and depth.

Experience

  1. Welcoming guest journey from illuminated street signage to intimate dining spaces

  2. Carefully zoned flooring to define seating, circulation, and service areas

  3. Dedicated coffee and pastry display integrated into the customer experience

  4. Contemporary bistro atmosphere with warm materials, texture, and depth

  5. Balanced use of timber, brass, tiles, and soft lighting to create a comfortable dining environment
